In October, together with more than 50 science journalists from different West African countries, France, Canada, and Switzerland, I attended the first “Conférence des Journalistes Scientifiques Francophones” in Dakar. This provided me with the opportunity to do some research on the topic of agroecology in Senegal. My reportage on the agroecology movement in Senegal was published in the WOZ. According to the FAO and IPCC, agroecology is the best way to achieve climate and biodiversity goals in the food system and to secure a future for millions of small farmers. Agroecology projects like the "Ferme des 4 chemins" in Toubab Dialao have impressed me. The founders revolutionize agriculture and the food system from below and show how both, people and nature, can benefit from diversity and closed cycles.
